NZSCA announces 2017 competition calendar

The New Zealand Specialty Coffee Association (NZSCA) has announced its dates for the 2017 coffee competition season.

Four coffee championship events will be split between Auckland and Wellington.

The New Zealand Barista Championship will take place as a stand alone event from 29 – 30 July 2017 in Wellington.

NZSCA notes this date is “slightly later” than usual due to the World Barista Championship not taking place until Novemeber 2017 in Korea.

The New Zealand Cup Tasters Championship will take place on 17 March 2017 in Auckland as a night event, with the Brewers Cup the following day on 18 March at a separate venue in Auckland.

The New Zealand Latte Art Champion will take place on 1 April 2017, and make its return to Auckland due to an overwhelming number of entrants residing in the city.

NZSCA is now working through sponsorship proposals and contracts for each of the four championship events.

To discuss sponsorship opportunities in 2017 contact emma@nzsca.org or call 021 415 810.
